BIOQUANT Feature: Auto Osteoid Tissue Width, Surface, and Volume

The Osteoid Tab on the Auto Measure dialog box is designed to provide unbiased direct automatic width, surface, and volume measurements of osteoid tissue.

Description:

A SYNOPSIS OF THE OSTEOID WIDTH, VOLUME, AND SURFACE PROCEDURE
1. The user clicks on the Osteoid to automatically outline it.
2. The user clicks two points on the outline tracing to define the end points of the Osteoid surface. The width lines are automatically generated.
5. If the user is satisfied, the user clicks the Save All Data to save all of the widths to the O.Wi Osteoid Width array, Volume to the OV Osteoid Volume array, and Surface to the OS(Ob-) Osteoid Tissue without Osteoblasts array.

Osteoid Tool Settings
The following settings can be adjusted on the Osteoid Tool:

• Whether the osteoid surface is Osteoblast positive or Osteoblast negative.
• Whether the osteoid surface is the shorter or longer side of the osteoid.
• Micron distance interval between width lines.
• Perpendicularity of width lines.
• Whether the average or all widths are saved.
