BIOQUANT Life Science analyizes DNA content in red blood cell nuclei as visualized by the feulgen reaction. The c-size of an as yet unquantified species may be automatically determined using a calibration curve based on the c-size values of known species.

Using the Feulgen Template and the provided BIOQUANT software guide, the user is walked through the measurement protocol. The template contains size and shape filters which allow the software to automatically target individual nuclei and avoid clumps of nuclei.

Protocol

• The user thresholds the stained nucleus and the software automatically determines area and integrated optical density and calculates C-size.
